Emilio Modeste Super Friends 4Tet

ABOUT

Emilio Modeste (@EmilioLModeste) is a saxophonist and composer from New York City. Perhaps best known for his time performing with the late trumpet great Wallace Roney, he currently tours with the bands of Stanley Clarke, Kassa Overall, Cindy Blackman Santana, and Julius Rodriguez. Modeste has toured extensively with his band, INSTANT ALTER, the Future Fusion group that is changing the shape of modern music. Equally as adept on tenor or soprano, Modeste's dynamic tone and adventurous sense of story-telling form a gravitational field that pulls in even the most reluctant of listeners. This can be most recently heard on Kassa Overall’s Cream (Warp) and Cindy Blackman Santana’s Coherence (Mack Avenue), and he is featured on Stanley Clarke's latest album as well. A protégé of the great drummer and producer Lenny White, Modeste explores endless styles of musical expression in his artistry.

Modeste’s upcoming debut album will be released by JMI Recordings, featuring a star-studded cast of pianist Patrice Rushen, bassist Stanley Clarke, drummer Kassa Overall, and percussionist Daniel Moreno.
