A distinguished drummer and Miami native of Haitian descent, OBED CALVAIRE is an alumnus of the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, where he earned both a Bachelor of Music (2003) and a Master of Music (2005). Notably, he completed his undergraduate studies in just three years, reflecting his exceptional talent and dedication. 

Calvaire's illustrious career includes collaborations with an impressive roster of artists across genres, such as Wynton Marsalis, Seal, Eddie Palmieri, Vanessa Williams, Dave Holland, David Foster, Mary J. Blige, Stefon Harris, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Peter Cincotti, Musiq Soulchild, Nellie McKay, Yellowjackets, Joshua Redman, Steve Turre, and Lizz Wright. His versatility extends to performances with renowned ensembles, including the Village Vanguard Orchestra, SFJAZZ Collective, Metropole Orkest, The Clayton Brothers, The Mingus Big Band, Roy Hargrove Big Band, and the Bob Mintzer Big Band.

Currently, Obed Calvaire performs with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra under the direction of Wynton Marsalis. He continues to work alongside celebrated musicians such as Dave Holland, Monty Alexander, Chris Potter, John Patitucci, Sean Jones, Yosvany Terry, and Mike Stern.
