Support the Future of Winter Jazzfest
For more than twenty years, NYC Winter Jazzfest has been a home for discovery, connection, and artistic bravery. Every season since 2005, we have been reminded that our music is not simply entertainment, but a vital force reflecting our times, carrying legacies forward, and nurturing each other in moments of hardship and joy alike. We look back at an intergenerational tribute to the late Geri Allen to connections forged between Shabaka Hutchings and Pharoah Sanders to a contemporary celebration of Strata-East Records with players from their 30s to their 80s.
From early performances by Jason Moran, Esperanza Spalding, Jon Batiste and Vijay Iyer to today’s vital voices like Tyreek McDole, Lakecia Benjamin, Samara Joy and Kassa Overall, Winter Jazzfest has championed artists at every stage of their careers, from emerging innovators to icons.
As the cost of presenting live music rises and arts funding declines, our responsibility to care for our artists and community grows. To meet this moment, we are launching The Winter Jazzfest Fund, a dedicated initiative to increase artist fees, strengthen behind-the-scenes support, and build the long-term infrastructure needed to keep our festival thriving.
We’ve partnered with Music’s Promise as our fiscal sponsor, making all contributions tax-deductible. (Please note: When you donate, the line item on your credit card statement will appear as "MUSIC'S PROMISE NEW YORK, NY" but please know you will be directly supporting Winter Jazzfest Fund, allowing for:
• Higher artist fees
• Improved conditions for artists and our audience including more venues for seated shows and a more robust production team
• Long-term financial sustainability for the festival
Winter Jazzfest has always belonged to its community. Your generosity helps us welcome new voices like Laura Anglade, Tomoki Sanders and DoYeon Kim, uplift legends like David Murray, Dee Dee Bridgewater and William Parker, and ensure this music continues to grow with imagination and purpose.
This Giving Tuesday, join us in building the next chapter.
