About:
In New York slang, “the getdown” means making music or dancing with irresistible energy—and having a great time doing it. In Paris, The Getdown is a collective led by organist Laurent Coulondre and drummer Arnaud Dolmen, the beating heart of this ever-evolving project. The result is a completely original and genuinely spectacular ensemble.
With organ, drums, Fender Rhodes, piano, and keyboards at its core, the group brings together outstanding musicians who leave their egos at the door to focus on music, connection, and the sheer joy of playing together. This is an all-star lineup in the service of groove and celebration.
Expect influences from Guadeloupe and Cuba, a strong Caribbean pulse, along with swing, funk, melody, and jazz. If there is a single guiding influence, it is the joyful and enduring spirit of Michel Petrucciani.
